The Northwest Missouri State soccer team was outscored 1-0 against Fort Hays State Friday afternoon.
The Bearcats and Tigers played an even match during the first half. Northwest had 5 shots to Fort Hays' 4.
Fort Hays took a 1-0 lead early in the second half off a corner kick that was knocked around until it found the back of the net.
The Bearcats continued to battle recording 4 more second half shots, but could not get one to go in.
Hannah Stirling and
Kaitlyn Case were the only Bearcats to tally more than 1 shot on the day. The duo of Stirling and Case each had one shot on goal along with
Linsi Mashburn who also had one.
For the game, Northwest had 9 shots to Fort Hays' 7. Both squads had 3 shots on goal.
Northwest is back home at 1 p.m. against Nebraska-Kearney Sunday, September 25.
