Elijah Green has been named the MIAA's Defensive Player of the Week presented byÂ
Mammoth Turf.
Green (Maryville, Mo.) posted a career-high four quarterback sacks in Northwest's 24-7 Family Weekend win over Central Missouri. Green entered the game against UCM with 3.5 career quarterback sacks.
Green led the Bearcats with six total tackles. His four quarterback sacks took away 33 UCM rushing yards. Green had a total of 4.5 tackles-for-loss which resulted in 34 lost yards for the Mules.
The Bearcat defense held the Mules to minus-three yards rushing in the contest.
His four sacks ranks tied for the second-most sacks in a single-game in Bearcat history.
