The Northwest Missouri State soccer team scored a win over Missouri St. Louis, 3-1.
Hannah Stirling was able to give Northwest a 1-0 lead at the 8:02 mark with the assist going to
Kaylie Rock. Nearly ten minutes later, Rock would assist yet again, this time with a pass to
Teagan Blackburn.
The Bearcats would draw a penalty in the box at the 51:23 mark giving them a shot at another goal.
Kaitlyn Case buried it into the bottom right corner of the net giving Northwest a 3-0 lead.
Missouri St. Louis would score its lone goal of the match at the 76:12 mark.
With four minutes left remaining in the match, UMSL drew a penalty kick just inside the box.
Grace Goetsch saved the goal as she dove right and was able to secure the ball.
The Bearcats had 15 shots on the day and held Missouri St. Louis to 10. Annelize Alexio,
Hannah Stirling,
Kaitlyn Case, and
Teagan Blackburn all recorded two shots for Northwest.
The Bearcat soccer squad is back in action Sunday afternoon as they travel to Sioux Falls to take on the Cougars. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
