The Northwest Missouri State soccer team played host to Drury University in the season's home opener Sunday afternoon at the Bearcat Pitch. Both teams entered the day with a 1-0 record.

After 90 minutes of play, neither team was able to find the back of the net making the final score 0-0. Drury had 12 shots on the day, while Northwest had seven.

Teagan Blackburn and
Caroline Sanders each tallied two shots. The trio of
Lucia Fernandez,
Linsi Mashburn and
Kaitlyn Case each had one shot.

The Bearcats drew eight fouls as well as four yellow cards in a very physical match up against the Panthers.

Lily Ellis closed out the weekend with her second straight shutout.

Northwest is back home on Thursday afternoon against Missouri St. Louis. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
