The Northwest Missouri State women's soccer team started the 2022 season with a 1-0 victory at Wayne State.
The Bearcats started off well with a couple of strong attacks to begin the match. The attacks paid off as
Hannah Stirling put the Bearcats on the board scoring at the 14:49 mark of the first half.
Elaina Shromoff recorded an assist on the goal.
The Bearcats recorded 17 shots on the day.
Hannah Stirling was the only player to record four shots. Three Bearcats including Annelize Alexio,
Teagan Blackburn and
Caroline Sanders recorded three shots.
Redshirt freshman
Lily Ellis earned a shutout in her debut in goal for the Bearcats.
Northwest returns home Sunday to host Drury for the seasons home opener. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Bearcat Pitch.
