WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The No. 43-ranked Midwestern State University women's tennis team secured a 4-3 victory over the No. 41-ranked Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats Friday in a non-conference match.
Northwest's
Vera Alenicheva knocked off No. 44-ranked Anda Ghinga at No. 1 singles in three sets. Alenicheva won by scores of 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 7-5.
Julia Aliseda also posted a three-set victory at No. 3 singles over MSU's Hannah Yip. Aliseda disposed of Yip by the count of 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.
Northwest's final win of the day came at No. 3 singles from
Sofia Pignataro. Pignataro took care of MSU's Ethne Dowling, 6-4, 6-3.
