ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team recorded a 5-4 dual win over Washington University (Mo.) on Sunday at the Tao Tennis Center.
Washington University came into the match ranked No. 4 in the nation in the ITA's NCAA Division III national rankings.. Northwest is ranked No. 30 in the nation in the ITA's NCAA Division II rankings.
The match was played under NCAA Division III rules since Washington U. was the home team.
The Bearcats won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead in the dual.
Northwest was able to secure the dual win by capturing singles victories from No. 4
Mason Meier and No. 6
Simon Birgerson.
Northwest is 9-4 on the season, while WashU dropped to 9-6 overall.
