ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The No. 43-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team scored a 7-0 victory over Missouri-St. Louis at the Dwight Davis Courts at Forest Park.
Northwest (12-5 overall) scored the doubles points for the 12th time this season. Northwest's No. 1 doubles team of Tessa Kwakernakk and
Vera Alenicheva picked up a 6-3 win, while Northwest's No. 3 doubles team won by default as UMSL did not field a third doubles squad.
Northwest concluded the shutout by winning five of the six contested matches. Northwest's
Julia Aliseda and
Sofia Pignataro were pushed to a third set, but both came through with 10-point tiebreak triumphs.
Kwakernaak won by default at No. 6 singles as the Tritons did not field a sixth singles performer.
