WICHITA, Kan. - The No. 47-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team polished off a 7-0 sweep of the Newman University Jets at the Riverside Tennis Courts.
Northwest improved its season mark to 14-7 overall and 4-2 in MIAA play. Newman dropped to 12-10 overall and 2-5 in MIAA action.
The Bearcats won all doubles matches, before securing all six singles victories. It is the ninth time this season the Bearcats have won a dual by a 7-0 final.

Vera Alenicheva was pushed to a third-set tiebreaker against Newman's Dana Issabayeva before the Bearcat sophomore prevailed, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-3).
Julia Aliseda extended win streak to five in a row at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Newman's Marie Brunet.
