ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The No. 4-ranked University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos scored a 5-2 dual victory over the No. 42-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team at the Genesis Health Club's indoor courts on Saturday afternoon.
The Bronchos (16-1 overall, 7-0 MIAA) were able to secure the doubles point and four singles wins to sneak past the Bearcats (14-8 overall, 4-3 MIAA).
Northwest's No. 3 doubles team of
Julia Aliseda and
Tyffaine Pais knocked off No. 49-ranked Nikki Boyar and Blythe Buntrock, 6-1.
The Bearcats picked up two wins in singles play.
Sofia Pignataro notched a 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (10-6) win over UCO's Grace Chadick at No. 4 singles. Northwest's
Angela per Moreno recorded a 6-4, 7-6 victory over UCO's Buntrock at No. 6 singles.
Northwest will wrap up its regular season play Sunday at home against Northeastern State.
