ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The No. 4-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball continued its dominance of the Missouri Western Griffons with an 84-61 victory at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
Northwest has defeated Missouri Western 20 consecutive times. Northwest has also won 23 straight games in the city of St. Joseph.
The Bearcats shot 61.5% from the floor, marking the 17th time this season that Northwest has shot 50.0% or better from the field. The Bearcats made 32-of-52 field goals against the Griffons.
Sophomore
Wes Dreamer paced the Bearcat scoring attack with 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Dreamer connected on two three-pointers and was 7-of-7 at the free throw line. It is Dreamer's eighth career 20-point scoring game.
Junior
Trevor Hudgins delivered a 21-point performance on 7-of-11 shooting. It is Hudgins's 65th career 20-point scoring game. Hudgins has reached double-figure scoring in 56 straight games.
Junior
Diego Bernard registered his 11th career double-double with 11 points and 10 points. His thunderous breakaway dunk with 4:29 left in the game was the exclamation point in Northwest's victory.
Northwest will be back in action Tuesday at Emporia State. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. at White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.
