The No. 3-seeded Northwest Missouri State soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision against No. 2-seeded Emporia State in the MIAA Tournament semifinals.

Both squads were held scoreless through the first 45 minutes of play.

ESU had nine shots compared to the Bearcats six in the first half. Northwest also drew three corners and did not allow the Hornets a single one.

In second half action, Emporia held strong on the defensive end giving up just two shots.

th minute, the Hornets went the length of the field and knocked in the lone goal of the match.

Northwest tallied eight shots in the match.
Kaylie Rock and
Sydney Mueller led the way with two apiece.

Lily Ellis had a season high 17 shots faced as well as a season high 10 saves.

The loss ends Northwest's record breaking eight-match win streak and brings its record to 13-5-2. Emporia State improves to 11-5-4 and advances to take on the winner of Central Missouri vs. Fort Hays State in the MIAA Tournament Championship.

The Bearcats were ranked No. 6 in the most recent NCAA Division II Central Region rankings. The NCAA Division II women's soccer selection show will take place Monday, Nov. 7.
