Northwest Missouri State University junior returner/wide receiver
Kashan Griffin has been selected as the MIAA's Special Teams Player of the Week.

Griffin (Apple Valley, Calif.) accounted for 200 all-purpose yards and a touchdown in Northwest's 36-3 homecoming win over Northeastern State.
Griffin returned three punts for 114 yards - the third-most punt return yards by a Bearcat in program history. He returned punts for 18, 32 and 64 yards vs. the RiverHawks. Griffin also caught four passes for 86 yards. He nabbed a 16-yard touchdown pass from
Mike Hohensee with :12 left in the first half to give Northwest a 27-3 lead at the break. Griffin added a 42-yard reception in the fourth quarter.
Griffin leads the nation in punt return average (22.2 yards/return).
It marks the second consecutive week that Griffin has earned a weekly honor from the league office. Last week, Griffin was honored as the MIAA offensive player of the week.
