The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Northwest Missouri State University defensive lineman Zach Howard and linebacker Jackson Barnes earned NCAA Division II Super Region 3 accolades.

Howard (Bolivar, Mo.) has posted a 3.51 grade point average in physical education. Howard earned second-team all-MIAA honors in 2019 when he tied for the team lead in quarterback sacks (8.0). Howard has played in 24 career games with 71 tackles entering the 2021 season. 

Barnes (Kansas City, Mo.) has a 3.96 GPA in chemistry. Barnes also earned second-team all-MIAA status in 2019. He started 13 games at linebacker and ranked second on the team with 89 total tackles in 2019. Barnes has played in 31 career games with 132 total tackles. He has registered four career interceptions. 

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late May.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
