EDMOND, Oklahoma - The No. 5-ranked University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos women's tennis team handed the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats their first MIAA loss of the season with a 7-0 dual victory.
The Bronchos moved to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the MIAA, while the Bearcats dropped to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in league action. The loss snapped a four-match dual win streak for the Bearcats.
The Bronchos gained a 1-0 lead in doubles. Northwest put up a fight at No. 2 doubles, but UCO's duo of Paola Landin and Mae Canete held off the Bearcat pairing of
Julia Aliseda and
Angela per Moreno, 7-5.

Victoria Caster was the lone Bearcat to score a set victory in singles action. Caster pushed UCO's Blythe Buntrock to three sets at No. 5 singles. Buntrock won the first set, 6-2. Caster came back to win the second, 6-4. Buntrock prevailed in the third-set tiebreaker, 10-6.
The Bearcats will play their final home match of the season Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Missouri Western on the Frank Grube Courts at the
Mark Rosewell Tennis Center. Northwest has defeated Missouri Western in 36 straight dual matchups.
