HAYS, Kansas - The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team hammered the Fort Hays State University Tigers on the courts Saturday, 7-0.
The Bearcats (10-4 overall, 6-1 MIAA) won their fourth consecutive dual match. It also marked Northwest's eighth win in nine dual matches. Fort Hays State fell to 3-5 overall and 0-5 in MIAA play.
For the only third time in 14 matches, Northwest won all three of the doubles matches. Northwest's No. 1 doubles pairing of
Vera Alenicheva and
Julia Aliseda won their eighth straight doubles match.
Northwest simply dominated the singles play by only dropping six games in the 12 sets that were contested.
The Bearcats will be back in action at 2 p.m. Sunday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, taking on the Augustana Vikings.
