MARYVILLE, Missouri - The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team took its season record to 4-3 with a 7-0 sweep of visiting Emporia State University Saturday on the Frank Grube Courts at the Mark Rosewell Tennis Center.

Northwest also moved to 2-0 in MIAA action with the victory.

Northwest won all three doubles matches. Northwest's No. 3 doubles team of Tessa Kwakernaak and Kaylyn Chleborad won their third straight match with a 6-2 win over ESU's Colby Fugit and Emma Biggs.

Vera Alenicheva kept her singles record clean with a straight sets win at No. 1 singles. Alenicheva is 7-0 this spring.

Kwakernaak secured her third straight singles victory with a 6-2, 7-6 win over ESU's Cyrielle Peyroche at No. 2 singles.
