SPRINGFIELD, Missouri - For the second straight night the Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team knocked off a ranked foe at the Cooper Indoor Tennis Courts.
Saturday night, Northwest picked up a 4-2 win over No. 20-ranked Midwestern State. Northwest scored a 6-0 win over No. 25-ranked Southwest Baptist late Friday night.
The Bearcats won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to take the doubles point against MSU.
Northwest secured singles victories from No. 1
Andrea Zamurri, No. 2
Fabien Calloud and No. 5
Martin Sanchez. Zamurri and Sanchez each posted three-set wins with identical 6-0 scores in the pivotal third set.
Northwest is 5-1 on the season and will take to the Cooper Indoor courts again Sunday at 8 a.m. against Ouachita Baptist.
