The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team will remain home this week to take on the Rogers State University Hillcats.
The Bearcats and Hillcats have moved the series up to Friday and Saturday with expected rainfall over the weekend in the area.
Face coverings and social distancing will be required as the Bearcat Baseball Field in compliance with the city of Maryville's mask ordinance.

This weekend will mark the first games between Northwest and Rogers State on the baseball diamond. Northwest was en route to Claremore, Oklahoma, last year for a three-game series when the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
Bearcat hurler
Spencer Hanson (1-0) has been impressive in each of his three starts this season. Hanson possesses a team-best 2.21 earned run average in 17 innings of work. Hanson has allowed seven hits and struck out 17 batters, while only allowing four earned runs. Hanson has limited the opposition to a .125 batting average.
Max Spitzmiller (1-2) is tops on the team in innings pitched (17 2/3) and strikeouts (24).
Zach Wiese (0-1) made his first start of the season Sunday against Emporia State. Wiese went five innings against the Hornets and scattered seven hits with one earned run. Wiese had a 3.27 ERA in 11 innings pitched. Wiese has struck out nine batters and allowed four earned runs this season.
Designated hitter
Connor Quick leads the squad in RBI (8), doubles (3), batting average (.382), slugging percentage (.559) and on-base percentage (.462). Quick is tied for the team-high in hits (13). Quick owns a six-game hitting streak entering this week's series vs. Rogers State. Quick has tallied 38 multi-hit games in his three-year Bearcat career. Quick has produced a career batting average of .387 (117 hits, 302 at bats) and a career slugging mark of .576 entering this weekend's games with Rogers State. His .387 career average would rank as the fifth-best total in Bearcat history.
Shortstop
Jacob Pinkerton is tops on the squad in runs scored (7). Pinkerton has been solid in the field as well. He fielded 17 chances in the three-game set vs. Emporia State. He provided five putouts and 12 assists without an error against the Hornets.
Left fielder
Ryan Koski is batting .371 and is tied for the team lead in hits (13) and stolen bases (1). Koski is tied for second on the squad in doubles (2).
Skipper
Darin Loe notched victory No. 685 in Saturday's 2-1 walk-off win over Emporia State. Loe is Northwest's all-time wins leader with 529. Loe is one of five head coaches all-time to reach 500 wins in the MIAA.
