The Northwest Missouri State women's soccer team picked up a program-record 12th win on the season with a 2-1 overtime win against Missouri Southern. Northwest improved to 8-2-1 in MIAA play to qualify for the conference tournament.
The Bearcats allowed a goal in the 31st minute of the match to go down 1-0, allowing seven shots and four on goal from the Lions. Northwest registered seven shots as well but only two were on goal in the first half.Â
Midway through the second half,
Letycia Bonifacio netted the equalizer off a header from
Madi McKeever's free kick that would eventually send the match into overtime. While neither team could find the goal in the first overtime period, Northwest wasted no time driving the ball up the field in the second overtime where McKeever found
Teagan Blackburn who sent in the header for the game-winning goal in the 102nd minute.Â

Ashley Williams played all 102 minutes in goal while recording nine saves and allowing one goal.
The Bearcats will host Washburn for the first round of the MIAA tournament on Sunday, November 7 at 1 p.m. The winner will advance to the semifinals held on Friday, November 12.Â
