The Northwest Missouri State soccer team scored a 3-0 win over Rogers State in MIAA action. The Bearcats improve to 8-4-1 on the season and 4-1-1 in MIAA play.
Northwest got out to a quick start with a goal from
Alex Mausbach on the assist from
Teagan Blackburn in the 10th minute. The Bearcats took 14 shots with four on target while holding the Hillcats to just two total shots in the first half.Â
The Bearcats kept things rolling in the second half when
Annelize Aleixo scored a goal from Blackburn's second assist on the night at the 63:46 mark. Mausbach continued her hot streak and scored an unassisted goal to give the Bearcats the 3-0 advantage with just 13 minutes to play.Â
Northwest out-shot Rogers State 23-8 while registering eight shots on goal.
Ashley Williams picked up the win in goal for Northwest and recorded three saves in a complete-game shutout.Â
The Bearcats will travel to Northeastern State on Sunday for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Riverhawks.Â
