Looking to snap a six-game losing streak, the Bearcats will open MIAA play against the RiverHawks.
Senior first baseman
Connor Quick has continued to make his mark in the batter's box, tallying a team-high 20 hits (second-best in MIAA) and owning .400 batting average (fourth-best in MIAA). In 50 appearances at the plate, Quick also leads the Bearcat offense in on-base percentage (.544) and walks (15).
As a team, Bearcat hitters control the fifth-best batting average in the MIAA (.271).
On the mound, the Northwest pitching staff combines to form a 7.05 ERA, allowing 96 runs (89 earned) on 142 hits while striking out 96 batters. Sophomore
Alex Slocum controls a team-best 3.38 ERA, while allowing three runs on four hits while striking out seven on the year. Junior
Max Spitzmiller has struck out a team-high 21 batters in 18 innings of work.
Northeastern State controls the all-time series with Northwest 24-15, although Northwest leads when contest are played in Maryville, 2-1.
