NO. 2 BEARCATS RENEW RIVALRY VS. GRIFFONS
The No. 2-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team (15-1 overall, 5-1 MIAA) will play host to the Missouri Western Griffons (7-10 overall, 3-3 MIAA) Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Bearcat Arena.

NORTHWEST OWNS 13 STRAIGHT WINS VS WESTERN
Northwest has defeated Missouri Western 13 straight times entering Saturday's action.
    The Bearcats have won 18 of the last 19 matchups and hold a 54-35 lead in the all-time series against the Griffons.

HUDGINS NEEDS 1 MORE FOR 1,000 CAREER POINTS
Sophomore Trevor Hudgins needs one more point to become the 25th Bearcat to score 1,000 career points. Hudgins has scored 999 points in 54 career games.

HAWKINS SNARES THIRD MIAA ATHLETE OF WEEK AWARD
For the third time this season, Northwest Missouri State junior forward Ryan Hawkins has been named the MIAA's Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
    Hawkins (Atlantic, Iowa) averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and shot 53.1 percent from the field in leading Northwest to a pair of road MIAA victories. Hawkins played all 80 minutes in the two games.
    Hawkins collected his third double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a 71-56 win at Emporia State.
    Hawkins scored a game-high 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting and grabbed four rebounds to go along with five steals in a 73-68 victory at Washburn. Hawkins hit a driving left-hand layup with 3:38 to play and added two free throws with 2:33 left to put Northwest on top of Washburn for good at 66-65. It was the fourth 30-point plus scoring game this season for Hawkins.

HAWK LEADS THE 'CATS
Hawkins is leading the Bearcats and the MIAA in scoring at 23.6 points per game.
    Hawkins is shooting 56.3% from the field, including 45.0% from three-point range.
    Hawkins has buried a team-best 45 three-pointers and is 62-of-75 (82.7%) at the free throw line. Hawkins also leads the team in steals with 35.

1,000 POINTS/500 REBOUNDS
Junior Ryan Hawkins became the 13th Bearcat to post 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. Hawkins has 1,071 points and 559 rebounds.

The sophomore backcourt pairing of Trevor Hudgins and Diego Bernard did their fair share of damage in a 71-56 win at Emporia State.
    Hudgins scored a game-high 28 points, while Bernard followed with 21 points against the Hornets.
    It's the ninth time this season that Hudgins has scored 20 or more points. Hudgins has 29 career 20-point scoring games.
    For Bernard, it was the fourth time this year that he has eclipsed the 20-point mark. Bernard has seven 20-point games in his Bearcat career.

Junior Ryan Hawkins poured in 32 points at Washburn to surpass the 30-point mark for the third time this season.
    Hawkins has tallied four 30-point games in his career.

WATERS RISES
Redshirt freshman Luke Waters had a busy week as he started his first career game and played his first 40-minute game. He also tied his career scoring high.
    Waters made his first career start at Emporia State and played the entire 40 minutes of a 71-56 road win over the Hornets.
    On Saturday in Topeka, Waters tied his career scoring high with 14 points as he made his second start and played 38 minutes in a 73-68 triumph over the Ichabods.

The Jan. 14 NABC Division II Top 25 poll marks the 23rd straight week that Northwest has been ranked in the top five.

'CATS, MCCOLLUM ROLLING IN BIG VICTORIES
Northwest recorded its eighth victory by 20 or more points this season in a 101-66 triumph over Simpson on New Year's Day.
    Under head coach Ben McCollum the Bearcats are 97-2 in games decided by 20 points or more.
    Northwest has won 95 consecutive games when the final scoring margin is 20 or more points. The last time the Bearcats lost a game by 20 points or more came Jan. 20, 2010, when Missouri Southern posted an 88-63 win in Joplin, Missouri.

115 WINS OVER LAST FOUR SEASONS
Northwest has been playing on a different level the last four seasons. The Bearcats have posted a record of 115-6 since the start of the 2016-17 season.
    Northwest went 35-1 in 2016-17 and won the national title. The Bearcats went 27-4 in 2017-18, before going 38-0 and winning their second national crown in 2018-19.

STILL SOME STREAKS ALIVE
Despite having its 46-game win streak, 24-game conference win streak and 16-game road win streak snapped, Northwest still possesses the longest win streak in the nation in neutral court games with 36.
    The Bearcats's 25-game home win streak ranks tied for the fourth-longest streak in the nation among all NCAA divisions. It ranks T-No. 2 among NCAA Division II teams.
