Northwest (6-10, 2-3 MIAA) is trying to recover from a three-game sweep that came at the hands of Central Oklahoma March 1-2. Prior, Northwest had relied on strong offensive performances to be successful. Currently, the Bearcats rank third in the MIAA in team batting average at .288.
Junior first baseman
Connor Quick is ranked No. 10 in the league in batting average (.357). Quick is also ranks in the top-10 in the MIAA in slugging percentages (.574). Quick has recorded 20 hits in 56 at bats and has hit a team-high two home runs. Quick also owns a .464 on-base percentage.
Seniors
Derek Hussey and
Alixon Herrera are tied for fifth in the MIAA in hits on the season (21).
Junior pitcher Quinten Van Ackeren leads the Bearcats with 29 strikeouts, allowing 19 runs on 36 hits in 27.0 innings pitched.
Southwest Baptist (8-7, 3-3 MIAA) comes into the matchup with Northwest coming off a 2-1 series win over Fort Hays State.
