Northwest baseball prepares to continue its winning ways as it travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to square off in a one-game series against Henderson State.
Currently, the Bearcats (1-3) lead the all-time series seven games to five over the Reddies, with their last win coming in 2017. Prior, Northwest defeated Henderson State four straight times during the 2004-09 seasons.

Coming into the game, three Northwest players look to extend their hit streaks to five games apiece. These players include senior midfielder Mondesi Gutierrez, senior catcher Jay Hrdlicka and freshman first baseman Connor Quick.

Getting on base hasn't base hasn't seemed to be an issue for Northwest as four Bearcat baseball players are looking to extend on base streaks when facing Henderson State. Guttierrez, Hrdlicka, Quick and senior outfielder Derek Hussey share a team-high four straight games reaching base.

For the Reddies, they are coming off a unanimous win over Union University (Tenn.) scoring 21 runs on 16 hits and no errors. Henderson State scored four in the third inning, four in the fourth inning, five in the fifth inning and seven in the sixth before the mercy rule was induced. Junior outfielder Danny Mitchell Jr. led the Reddies with six at bats, notching three hits and two RBI's while batting .273.

Thus far, Hrdlicka is a top the Bearcat starters in batting percentage, hitting at .588 with 17 at bats with 10 hits. Hrdlicka also leads the team with a .706 slugging percentage and a .632 on base percentage.

Through the first four outings, the Bearcat offense has a combined batting average of .318. In 151 possible at bats, Northwest has 48 hits, 21 RBI's and 33 strikeouts.
The matchup against Henderson State is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. on Feb. 7 at Clyde Berry Field.
