DURANT, Oklahoma – The Northwest Missouri State baseball team secured its first win of the young season over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday, 12-4.
The Bearcats scored 12 runs on 16 hits while only notching three errors in the win over the Savage Storm.
Northwest (1-3 overall) tallied nine hits and 12 runs with six coming in the ninth inning to help secure the win for the Bearcats. Senior catcher 
Jay Hrdlicka tied his career-high with four hits and scored two runs for Northwest.
During the first, senior 
Mondesi Gutierrez reached base after a throwing error and advanced to second on a fielding error as senior 
Derek Hussey reached base. Hrdlicka sacrifice bunted, advancing the baserunners to second and third. The Bearcats then scored as freshman first baseman 
Connor Quick hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Gutierrez.
Southeastern Oklahoma State rallied in the bottom of the second when SOSU's Colton Buckner homered to left field to lead off the inning. The Savage Storm then scored two more to take a 3-1 lead.
Northwest scored four runs in the top of the third on five hits and left two runners on base to take the lead back, 5-3.
It was all Bearcats following the third inning as they scored one in the top of the fifth and allowing SOSU to score only one more run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Northwest added six more insurance runs in the ninth.
Freshman 
Thomas Henrichs pitched 5.0 innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
Gutierrez, Hrdlicka and Quick extended their team-leading hitting streaks to four games.
Northwest will remain on the road and travel to Henderson State for a Thursday matchup at 6 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
