The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team adjusted its travel plans this week when the MIAA/GLVC Crossover event in Joplin was moved up because of expected inclement weather this upcoming weekend.
The Bearcats will take to the field Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Missouri-St. Louis. Northwest will play a pair of games on Thursday beginning at 1 p.m. vs. Rockhurst and then immediately following at approximately 4 p.m. against Missouri Southern. All three games will be considered non-conference opponents for the Bearcats.

Northwest is the top hitting team in the MIAA with a .316 average through the first two weeks of the season. Central Oklahoma is second at .291.
Northwest is led by the strong bats of junior first baseman Conner Quick, batting .438 on the year, and senior catcher
Jay Hrdlicka, batting .400. Quick leads the team in total hits on the year with 14 and has recorded at least one hit in each of the team's first seven games.
Another notable standout for the Bearcats is senior catcher
Alixon Herrera. In 25 at-bats, Herrera is hitting .320 and leading the squad with 10 RBI.
Thomas Henrichs is off to a strong start on the mound for the Bearcats. Henrichs is 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA. He has struck out seven in 9 1/3 innings of work.
Trevor Dudar has made four appearances and tallied a save with a 0.00 ERA. Dudar has struck out four batters in 3.0 innings.
