MALIKA SPORTS CLASSIC
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcat women's basketball team (5-4) will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii to take on No. 13-ranked Alaska Anchorage (9-1) and Lindenwood-Belleville (7-2) in the Malika Sports Classic.
LOCKDOWN
Northwest has held opponents to 52.3 ppg in their first nine games. This is sixth in the country among teams who have played at least nine games. Opponents have shot only 36.1% from the field against the Bearcats.
ALASKA ANCHORAGE DOMINANCE
Alaska Anchorage has been a dominant program in women's basketball the past few years. In the last five years, the program has won at least 27 games each year.

The Bearcats are currently seventh in the country in FT percentage at 80.6%. The Bearcats have five players shooting higher than 75% from the charity stripe.

The Bearcats currently rank eighth in the country in fewest turnovers per game, 12.2, among teams that have played at least nine games.
CONFERENCE OPENER
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcat women's basketball team defeated the Lincoln Blue Tigers, 56-32. It's Northwest's first win in an MIAA opener since 2012-13 and the first road-opening win for the Bearcats since the 2007-08 season. The 32 points allowed in the game ties a Northwest record for fewest amount of points allowed in an MIAA game (vs Nebraska-Kearney, Jan. 21, 2016).
