Softball splits road games against Nebraska-Kearney


Story Headlines
- The Northwest Missouri State University softball team split a Friday doubleheader at Nebraska-Kearney on Friday at Dryden Park in Kearney, Neb.
- The Lopers won the first game, 3-1, and the Bearcats took the second game, 3-1.
- Northwest is now 23-15 overall and 12-6 in MIAA play. Nebraska-Kearney is now 8-40 on the season and 5-17 in conference play.
- Jaedra Moses was 4-for-8 at the plate and stole two bases in the two games.
Game One Key Statistics (Nebraska-Kearney 3, Northwest 1)
- Northwest scored its lone run in the first inning. The Lopers scored one in the first and two in the fourth.
- The Bearcats had one run on eight hits with four errors. UNK had three runs on five hits with one error.
- Moses was 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
- Kaitlyn Weis was 2-for-4 at the plate in the first game. She pitched the final two innings without allowing a hit. She didn't walk a batter and struck out one.
- Chantel Adams was 2-for-4.
- Rebecca Maher scored Northwest's run, going 1-for-4.

Game One Key Innings
- In the first, a UNK error off the bat with two down allowed Rebecca Maher to score the game's first run. Maher had singled with one down and ended up stealing second base later in the frame.
Game Two Key Statistics (Northwest 3, Nebraska-Kearney 1)
- The Bearcats scored one in the third and two in the fourth. Nebraska-Kearney got its lone run in the fifth.
- Northwest had three runs on nine hits with no errors. The Lopers had one run on five hits with one error.
- Moses was 2-for-4 in the second game. She stole a base and scored a run.
- Maher went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
- Gilson was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a double.
- Karli Allen went 2-for-4.

Game Two Key Innings
- With one out in the third, Moses hit a single to center and stole second. Maher came up with an RBI single to center, driving in Moses to make it 1-0 Northwest.

- In the fourth, Gilson led off with a double and Rawie drew a walk. Allen loaded the bases with a single to right center. Baderdeen took the third pitch she saw into center for a two-RBI single, driving in Gilson and Rawie to make it 3-0 Bearcats.
