- The Northwest Missouri State University softball team split a double header with Missouri Western at the Griffon Softball Field in St. Joseph, Mo., on Tuesday.
- The Bearcats won the first game, 3-2, but fell in the second game, 6-5.

Taylor Blackford got her 11th win of the season, going 5.2 innings. She allowed two runs and no walks while striking out two. She retired nine straight including setting the Griffons down in order in the second and third.
Game One Key Innings
- In the second, Adams led off the inning with a solo shot to center. After an out, Rawie took a pitch over the left center field fence for a home run, giving Northwest a 2-0 lead.
- In the fifth, Bylthe led off with a single up the middle. Moses had a bunt single to move Blythe to second. Maher got a single through the left side to score Blythe to put the Bearcats up, 3-1.
Game Two Key Statistics
- Northwest scored one in the first, two in the second and two in sixth. The Griffons had three in the third and three in the fourth.
- The Bearcats had five runs on nine hits with one error. Missouri Western had six runs on nine hits with no errors.

Kiana Baderdeen was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored
- Rawie went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
- Blythe was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. She had a triple and was also hit by a pitch.
- Maher went 1-for-3 with a run scored. She had a double and a walk.
- Weis was 1-for-1 with an RBI. She drew two walks and was hit by a pitch.
- Gilson drew a walk and scored a run.
- Moses had a sacrifice fly RBI.
- Adams was 1-for-4.

Holly Posegate got the start, going 2.1 innings. She allowed three runs on four hits with a walk. She retired Missouri Western in order in the second, retiring five straight at one point.
- Blackford came in to pitch and put the Griffons down in order in the fifth and sixth innings. She retired all six she faced.
Game Two Key Innings
- The Bearcats got a two-out rally in the first as Maher hit a double down the left field line. Weis worked a full count and came up with an RBI single to left, driving in the game's first run.
- In the second, Gilson drew a lead off walk and Rawie reached on a bunt single. Allen laid down a sacrifice bunt to put runners on second and third. Baderdeen got down in the count, 1-2, but put a single through the right side past a diving second baseman to chase in two runs, making it 3-0 Bearcats.
- Baderdeen started the sixth with a single to left. Blythe followed it up with her fourth triple of the year down the right field line to bring in Baderdeen. Moses hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Blythe, making it 6-5 Missouri Western.
