Story Headlines- The Northwest Missouri State University softball team picked up a Friday sweep over Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Mo.
- Northwest won the first game, 6-2, and got a shutout in the second game, 7-0.
- The wins move Northwest to 17-3 overall and 5-1 in MIAA play. SBU drops to 10-14 overall and 3-3 in conference action.

Kendle Schieber picked up her eighth win of the year in game one, going 7.0 innings with six strikeouts, one walk and no earned runs.
- In the second game,
Sarah Baldwin went all 7.0 innings for her fourth win and third shutout of the season. Baldwin allowed just three hits and walked one batter. She had six strikeouts.

Game One Key Northwest Statistics (Northwest 6, SBU 2)
- Northwest scored three runs in the third, one in the fifth and two in the seventh. Northwest had 12 hits and committed one error that led to two SBU runs in the third.
- Southwest Baptist had two runs on two hits with four errors, leading to two unearned runs. Both runs were scored in the third.

Chantel Adams was 2-for-3 in the opener with a pair of runs scored. She hit her fifth double of the year in the top of the third.

Alexis Kelsey was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI.

Jessica Rawie hit her fourth home run of the season in the seventh, driving in two. She went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored.

Torri Blythe was 2-for-4 with a run scored. She stole her ninth base of the year in the top of the third.

Kiana Baderdeen each picked up hits. Baderdeen scored once and Jones hit her second double of the season in the second inning.

Jaedra Moses and Schieber both got hits. Moses scored a run for Northwest in the third.
Game One Key Northwest Innings- Schieber worked perfect second, fifth and seventh innings for Northwest.
- Baderdeen and Blythe led off the third with back-to-back singles. Baderdeen moved to third on an error and Blythe stole second to put runners on second and third with no outs. Moses reached on a fielder's choice. Baderdeen was able to score on the play on an error by the third baseman. After a groundout that moved Moses to second, Kelsey hit a single up the middle to score Moses and Blythe to make it 3-0 Northwest.
- Adams reached on a fielder's choice with two down in the top of the fifth and eventually came around to score to make it 4-2 Northwest after Rawie and Jones reached on back-to-back errors by Southwest Baptist.
- Adams singled to lead off the seventh to center field. Rawie came up next and took a 2-0 pitch over the wall in center for her fourth big fly of the year, giving Northwest a 6-2 lead.

Game Two Key Northwest Statistics (Northwest 7, SBU 0)
- Northwest got one run in the first, two in the third, two in the fourth and two in the seventh. The team finished with 12 hits and did not commit an error.
- Southwest Baptist was held to just three hits and committed a pair of errors that led to two unearned runs.
- Kelsey was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored. She hit her team-leading sixth home run of the year in the seventh inning.
- Bylthe went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. She swiped her 10th base of the year in the first inning, leading to the first run scored.

Rebecca Maher and Schieber each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Schieber hit her first home run of the year in the fourth. Maher got her fifth double of the year in the third.
- Adams was 1-for-2 with a run scored. She drew a pair of walks.
- Moses and Baderdeen each picked up hits. Baderdeen also drew a walk in the second game.
Game Two Key Northwest Innings- Baldwin worked perfect fourth, sixth and seventh innings. She retired the last seven batters she faced.
- Blythe singled to start the game and Moses moved her to second on a sacrifice bunt. Blythe stole third and scored on a wild pitch.
- With two outs in the third, Maher doubled to left and scored on a Kelsey single to left center. Adams hit an infield single to move Kelsey to second who scored after the shortstop mishandled a ball from Rawie to make it 3-0 Northwest.
- Schieber led off the fourth with a home run to left center to make it 4-0 Northwest. Back-to-back singles from Baderdeen and Blythe put two on with no outs. Moses reached on a fielder's choice as Baderdeen was out at third. Maher came up with a single to center to drive in Blythe from second.
- Kelsey led off the seventh with a home run after falling behind 0-2. Adams drew a walk and eventually came around to score with two outs to make it 7-0 Northwest.
