- The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team fell to the No. 3 ranked Nebraska-Kearney Lopers, 3-2, on Friday evening in Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo.
- The No. 21 ranked Bearcats fall to 21-5 overall and 9-5 in MIAA play. The Lopers improved to 29-1 and 14-1 in conference action.

- The Bearcats won the first set, 25-22 but fell in the next two sets, 25-12 and 25-23. Northwest rebounded with a 25-20 win in the fourth but lost 15-12 in the fifth.
- Defensively, the Bearcats had 19 total blocks and finished with 97 digs.

Key Northwest Sequences
- Northwest fell behind early in the first set, 7-1 but an 11-2 put the Bearcats right back in the match. Bruder started the rally with a pair of kills. After a
Megan Stilmock service ace, Northwest forced an attacking error to cut the Loper lead to 7-5. Burder, Dannettell and Becker recorded three-straight kills before UNK was able to tie the match back up at 8-8. After a Bearcat attacking error, the Lopers gave a point back on a service error to tie the set, 9-9. Bruder then took care of the next three points starting with a service ace, a kill and a block with Becker to put Northwest up 12-9.
- The Bearcats took control early in the fourth set. After Bruder tied the set 1-1, Northwest got back-to-back blocks to go up 3-1. A Bearcat service error made it 3-2 but Schleppenbach answered with a kill to go up 4-2. UNK got a kill to pull within one at 4-3, but then hit an attacking error and Dannattell recorded a block to put the Bearcats up, 6-3. Northwest would not trail the rest of the set to tie the match, 2-2.
