Story Headlines- The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team swept Southwest Baptist, 3-0, on Friday evening in Bearcat Arena.
- The win moved Northwest to 8-3 on the year and 1-0 in the MIAA. SBU drops to 2-9 overall and 0-1 in conference action.
- Northwest held SBU to just eight third-set points. It is the second time this year Northwest has held an opponent in single digits. It was last accomplished against Henderson State in St. Joseph on Sept. 19.
- Northwest hit .408 as a team and had held SBU to a -.054 attack percentage.

Maddy Bruder had a match-high nine kills, hitting .438 with nine digs, three blocks and three assists.

Jackie Becker each had six kills. Foster had five digs and two blocks. Becker hit .750 for the match with four blocks.

Sarah Dannettell had 27 assists, five kills, four digs and a block.

Aarika Wittenburg had a match-high 10 digs with an assist.

Alexis Williams had three block assists and hit .556 for the match with five kills.

Shelby Duren had eight digs with a pair of blocks, two assists and two kills.
- Northwest's best set came in the third, hitting .500 with 11 kills against just one error.
- The only SBU lead of the entire match came early in the first set, 2-1.
- The last time Northwest began a season 8-3 was back in 2000. That team ended up going 17-15 overall.
Key Northwest Sequence- Northwest took very little time putting away SBU in the first. After falling behind in the first set, 2-1, Northwest went on a 12-3 run to take a 13-5 lead. Williams and Duren started the run with a block and followed it with a kill from Foster. After an SBU error, Foster picked up another kill off a feed from Bruder. After dropping a point, Becker recorded a kill to make it 6-3. After another SBU point, Northwest got kills from Bruder and Foster along with a bad SBU set to take a 9-4 lead. SBU got another point after a timeout, making it 9-5. After a block from Bruder and Becker, Williams recorded a kill and SBU was forced into a setting error. Williams and Bruder capped off the run with a block to make it 13-5.
