Baseball comes up short against Ichabods

- After falling behind 2-0 early on, the Bearcats tied the score in the second when Steven Garber drew a walk to lead off the inning. Garber moved to third on Wulff's double down the left field line and they both crossed the plate when Greenslade sent a single to center.

- Finding themselves behind again, the Bearcats closed the gap to 5-4 in the fifth after Johnson drove a single to center to score Wilkinson and Gotta, who had both singled earlier in the inning.

- Northwest tied the score in the sixth when Wulff drew a walk to open the frame. After moving to second on Greenslade's sacrifice bunt, the right fielder came around to score on an error by the shortstop.
Game Two Key Statistics (Northwest 5, Washburn 13)
- The Bearcats racked up 15 hits to score their five runs, while the Ichabods collected 11 hits en route to 13 runs.
- Both teams committed two errors in the field.
- Luke Wilkinson collected three hits in five at bats, one of which was his third double this season.
- Right fielder Austin Wulff drove in a pair of runs after reaching base on a pair of singles and drawing a walk.
- Sophomore Garrett Fort hit a home run for the second day in a row, driving in two runs.

Game Two Key Innings
- After the Ichabods put up three runs in the first, Northwest evened things up in the third after Gotta was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Fort proceeded to drive a pitch to deep right for his second home run this season. Johnson reached on an infield single in the next at bat and came around to score later in the inning when Kolby Greenslade reached on a single.

- The Bearcats took the lead in the fourth after Derek Meyer led off with a single to right. Three batters later the bases were loaded following a walk to Gotta and a HBP to Johnson. Steven Garber grounded into a fielder's choice for the second out of the inning, but Wulff singled in the next at bat to plate Gotta and Johnson.

- The Bearcats will host Midland College on Tuesday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at Bearcat Field in non-conference action. MIAA play will conclude with a four-game series at Missouri Western starting on Friday, April 24.
