Story Headlines- The Northwest Missouri State softball team swept Northeastern State on Sunday afternoon in Tahlequah, Okla.
- The Bearcats jumped out to an early lead and used a five-run sixth to seal the victory in game one.
- Northwest scored two runs in the sixth and seventh inning to take game two.
- The Bearcats improved to 4-6 and 2-2 in the MIAA, while the RiverHawks are now 8-12 and 0-4 in the conference.
Game One Key Statistics (Northwest 9, Northeastern State 3)

Sarah Baldwin got the start for the Bearcats and pitched 4 2/3 solid innings, giving up two runs on four hits. The junior struck out four and walked three batters to take the win.

Kendle Schieber relieved Baldwin in the fifth and closed out the game for the Bearcats, throwing 2 1/3 innings and striking out two.
- 
Chantel Adams hit her first home run of the year in the sixth, finishing 3-for-3 with five RBI.
- 
Stephanie Mark continued her strong weekend, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored.
- Second baseman 
Torri Blythe went 2-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base.
- Freshman 
Rebecca Maher scored three runs and drove in one more.
Game One Key Innings- The Bearcats scored in the first inning for the sixth time this season. 
Torri Blythe led off the game with an infield single and stole second. After 
Rebecca Maher reached on an error, 
Chantel Adams knocked both of them in on a single up the middle.
- Northwest extended their lead in the second after 
Cassidy Lee drew a one-out walk. Lee moved to second on Blythe's sacrifice bunt and came around to score when Maher reached on an error. Adams picked up her third RBI two batters later when she singled to right, driving in Maher.
- After the RiverHawks scored a pair of runs to make the score 4-2, the Bearcats strengthened their lead in the sixth when they rattled off five straight hits. 
Cassidy Lee beat out a single to short and headed to second on Blythe's single to left. Lee came around to score when Maher drove a single to right, followed by a two-run single to center for 
Stephanie Mark. Adams added to her RBI total when she crushed her first home run of the season.
 
Game Two Key Statistics (Northwest 7, Northeastern State 6)
- Freshman 
Jessica Rawie was a triple short of the cycle, finishing 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
- 
Rebecca Maher reached base twice, scoring two runs and crushing the game-winning home run in the seventh.
- Senior 
Stephanie Mark added two RBI and two runs, hitting her fourth home run of the weekend in the first inning.
- 
Abbie Vitosh started in the circle for the Bearcats, throwing 3 1/3 innings and giving up just one earned run.
- 
Kendle Schieber earned the win after throwing three innings and striking out four.
- 
Sarah Baldwin recorded the final two outs to earn her first save at Northwest.
Game Two Key Innings- 
Stephanie Mark put the Bearcats in front, 2-0, in the first inning after she crushed a two-run home run.
- After the RiverHawks took a 5-3 lead in the fourth inning, the Bearcats tied the score in the sixth inning. 
Chantel Adams doubled down the right field line and came in to score when 
Jessica Rawie drove a 3-2 pitch over the fence.
- Down to their last out in the seventh, 
Rebecca Maher put Northwest ahead for good when she hit a two-run home run on a full count. 
Sarah Baldwin came in to pitch and induced two ground balls to the left side to seal the victory.
 
Up Next- The Bearcats will return to Maryville for their home opener on Wednesday, March 11 against Upper Iowa. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
