Maddy Bruder threw down two straight kills coming out of a Hornet timeout to extend the lead to 17-9.
- Facing a two-point deficit in the second set,
Maddy Bruder recorded her third kill of the set to return serve to the Bearcats. Another kill from Bruder leveled the score at 11 before two straight errors on the Hornets handed Northwest a 13-11 lead. The Bearcats would not trail again in the set.
