Northwest Missouri State Athletics

Dr. Brian Golightly grew up in the state of Missouri.

He attended the University of Kansas and earned a bachelors degree in biology in 1994. He obtained his MD degree from the University of Kansas Medical School and went on to specialize in family medicine during a three-year residency through UMKC.

Golightly began his practice in Maryville as a family medicine provider with St Francis Hospital in 2001. He served on several leadership boards with SSM and was a member of the Board of Governors with Mosaic Life Care.

Golightly has always been an enthusiastic sports and athletic fan, having pole vaulted his way to state in high school, and coached sports for his sons for many years, sports have always been a big part of his life. He was delighted to join the Sports Medicine Team at Norhtwest Missouri State University in 2020 and work the care of intercollegiate athletes into his practice. You will see him on the sidelines cheering on the Bearcats in various sports throughout the year.

Dr. Golightly and his wife, Rachel, have raised three children in Maryville, a daughter ,Shelby, and sons, Jackson and Jaren.
