Luhring is libero/defensive specialist from Grundy Center, Iowa. She was a four-time all-conference performer at Grundy Center High School for head coach Lori Willis. Luhring earned a spot on the 2023 Class 2A all-tournament team at the state tournament. She notched all-state honors as a senior. She is an honor roll student. She is the daughter of Angela and Kurt Luhring. Her sister, Kyah, was a member of the Bearcat volleyball and track & field squads.
 
"Ellery brings length and high ball control to our team," Woerth said. "She has a calm personality and plays very even keel on the court. We're excited to add another Luhring libero to our squad."
