Alana Masalskis

Alana (Wittenburg) Masalskis joined the Bearcat volleyball coaching staff in 2013 as an assistant coach. She first served as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons in 2011 and 2012 at Northwest following a standout volleyball career at Drake University.

Masalskis was a member of the Drake University volleyball team from 2007-10.  Masalskis ended the 2010 season with 764 digs, a Drake and Missouri Valley Conference single season record.  Nationally speaking, Masalskis's season total was the second-highest since the NCAA went to 25-point scoring and unlimited libero substitutions in 2008.  She left Drake as its single-game (39), single season (764) and career (2,423) digs record holder.  For her efforts, she earned first team all-MVC honors in 2010.

A native of Readlyn, Iowa Masalskis holds a degree in health science management from Drake. She is pursuing a degree in applied health science at Northwest.

She is the daughter of Barry and Lisa Wittenburg and has two sisters, Alissa and Aarika, and one brother, Austin.

She and her husband, Mark, were married July 21, 2019.
