Matt Wendelberger is in his third year at Northwest Missouri State University.
"Tex" is a former graduate assistant for the Northwest Strength and Conditioning department (2021-2023) and is now an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach working with women's basketball, football, baseball, golf, and track throwers.
The Pewauke, Wis., native was a four-time all-MIAA tight end at Fort Hays State. He earned honorable mention all-MIAA status in 2016 and 2019. He gained second-team all-MIAA accolades in 2017. He was named a third-team all-MIAA tight end in 2018. In his career at FHSU, Wendelberger caught 85 passes for 1,048 yards and he scored eight receiving touchdowns. He was a D2CCA Super Region 3 selection in 2018.
His wife, Kelly, also works as an athletic trainer for the Bearcats.
