Saw action in 10 matches ... played in 13 sets ... had five kills and two block assists and scored 6.0 points ... had a two-kill performance at Newman (9/8) .... credited with two kills and two block assists in a 3-0 win at Emporia State (10/12).

UNA 2017: Posted 144 kills and 38 blocks as a sophomore at North Alabama ... registered a career-high 13 kills vs. West Alabama.

UNA 2016: Cruz saw action in two sets for the Lions as a true freshman in 2016...both sets came on Sept. 13, during a 3-0 home win over West Alabama...she recorded a kill, a service ace and two digs in the match.

HIGH SCHOOL: She prepped at Dakota Ridge High School for coach Nikki Kneuer...played outside hitter and received all-conference honors her junior and senior seasons...also lettered in track and field for the Eagles ... high school coach: Nikki Kneuer.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 20, 1997 ... daughter of Toni and Wayne Cruz ... has a brother ... her full name is Genevieve Lauren Cruz.
