Nikki Gentile joins the Bearcat Softball coaching staff for her first season as a graduate assistant in 2015-16. Gentile moved to Maryville after spending the 2015 season as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater, Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
As a senior, Gentile batted .411 for the Kohawks, earning first team Iowa Conference and Mid-West Region honors.
The outfielder spent the first three years of her career at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa., starting 34 games and stealing 13 bases.
Gentile earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Physical Education from Coe College in 2015 and is pursuing a Master's in Sport Management and Administration at Northwest.
A native of Martinez, Calif., Gentile is the daughter of Scott and Dora Gentile. Her grandfather, "Diamond" Jim Gentile, spent nine seasons playing first base in the MLB.
