Hunter Lambdin

Hunter Lambdin is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University where he began his coaching career as a student assistant under the tutelage of Bearcat baseball coach Darin “Skip” Loe and Michael Creason. In Lambdin’s first season on the Bearcat coaching staff, Northwest Missouri State University’s baseball team captured the 2018 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) championship. After graduating from Northwest, Coach Lambdin returned to his home in Southern California to join the baseball coaching staff at Victor Valley Community College as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator.

Lambdin’s experience as a collegiate level hitting coach will provide a strong foundation for his transition to collegiate softball coaching. “I am excited to be working alongside of Coach Tellez,” Lambdin said. ”Together, we are committed to building an offensive philosophy that instills confidence, while focusing on physical mechanics and mental preparation.”

Coach Lambdin believes in player development on-and-off the field. His detail-oriented approach to developing high-quality student-athletes includes the philosophy of teaching softball skills in an organized progression where practice is focused on simulating game speed and game intensity. “I have a belief that we should leave nothing to chance in our teaching. It’s about creating a positive learning environment for our student-athletes and having an atmosphere that is disciplined yet fun,” said Coach Lambdin. “We begin with simple goals and build-up to more complex approaches,“ he said.

Hunter is a two-time Coach of the Year in the Carolina Shores Summer Collegiate League where he led his 2019 Little River Blue Crabs team to a CSCBL championship. He has been active in Summer collegiate baseball since 2017 and is currently the head coach of the Atlantic Hurricanes in the Ripken Collegiate League in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Lambdin was selected to be the head coach of the 2022 Ripken Collegiate All-Star team.

Lambdin comes from a line of collegiate coaches. His father, Nate Lambdin, was the head baseball coach at Victor Valley College and Barstow College in Southern California and his grandfather, Gene Lambdin, was the head baseball coach at Cypress College.
