Xavier Kurth

Former Bearcat basketball student-athlete Xavier Kurth will serve as an assistant coach for the Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team.

Kurth competed for the Bearcat men's basketball team from the 2014-15 season through the 2017-18 campaign. Kurth helped the program capture its first NCAA Div. II national championship in 2017.

Kurth played in 84 career games and made 46 starts. He scored 439 career points and grabbed 238 rebounds. He tallied 47 steals and drained 38 career three-pointers.

Kurth served as a part-time assistant from the 2018-19 season through the 2021-22 season in which Northwest captured three more NCAA Div. II men's basketball national championships.

A native of St. Joseph, Mo., Kurth played as a prep at Lafayette High School. Kurth was an all-state player as a senior. He was a two-time News Press Player of the Year selection.

Kurth earned his undergraduate degree in education from Northwest. He also earned his master's degree in applied health sciences at Northwest.
