Northwest Missouri State University junior Lauren Briggs has been named the MIAA Women's Co-Golfer of the Week.

Briggs continued her torrid play with the golf clubs as she fired a 1-under round of 70 to tie for third at the Newman Fall Women's Invite. She had a 36-hole total of 141, which is the second-best individual 36-hole scoring mark in program history. Briggs's final round of 70 is tied for the seventh-best single-round total in the Bearcat record book.

Briggs knocked in four birdies in Tuesday's final round at No. 3, No. 6, No. 14 and No. 16. Briggs's eight birdies tied for the second-most birdies in the 85-player field. Briggs has produced nine career top-10 finishes and six top-five finishes as a Bearcat. 

Briggs has placed in the top four at each of the three events Northwest has played in this fall. This season she has placed fourth, tied for third and tied for third. 

The Burlington, Iowa, native has played six rounds this fall and leads the team with a 72.17 stroke average.
