ANDOVER, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team is tied for fifth among the 15 programs competing in the Newman Fall Women's Invite.
 
Lauren Briggs recorded a team-best four birdies en route to an opening-round score of even-par 71. Briggs tallied birdies at No. 10, No. 13, No. 14 and No. 16. Briggs is tied for eighth in the 85-player field. Briggs's four birdies is tied for the third-most in the first round.
 
Clara Peake is tied for 19th in the tournament after had a first-round score of 73 (+2). Peake notched birdies at No. 11 and No. 14.
 
Lexi Bartley is tied for 34th with a first-round score of 75 (+4). Bartley recorded a birdie at the 17th hole.
 
Wildah Jarestam collected a trio of birdies at No. 5, No. 16 and No. 17 as she scored a four-over round of 75. Jarestam is tied for 34th following the first round.
 
The tournament is being played at Terradyne Country Club at a par-71 measuring 5,798 yards.
