Brandon Masters has landed
Myles Bach as the distance coach for the Bearcat cross country and track & field programs.
Bach comes to Northwest will coaching credentials at NCAA Division II and III schools in Washburn University and Beloit College. Bach accepted the head coaching position at Peru State College in March 2026 before agreeing to come to Maryville to be a part of the Bearcat program.
Bach served as head cross country and assistant track & field coach at Beloit College in the 2025-26 season. He worked as the program's recruiting coordinator.
He spent one season at Washburn University as an assistant cross country and track & field coach for the Ichabods. He helped guide the Ichabod men's cross country squad to a No. 24 finish at the 2024 NCAA Championship meet, the best in program history.
Bach gained his first coaching experience at the prep level in Iowa at Center Point-Urbana High School, prior to taking the job at Washburn.
Bach was a highly accomplished standout collegiate distance runner at Nebraska-Kearney after transferring from NCAA Division I Gonzaga. Bach redshirted in cross country in 2019 and then competed in six indoor track & field meets.
Bach joined the UNK cross country and track & field teams in 2021. Bach was an NCAA Division II national qualifier for the 10,000m at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Bach was a three-time USTFCCCA all-region honoree in cross country at UNK. He helped lead the Lopers to a pair of NCAA Championships meets.
Bach earned his bachelor's degree in sports management comprehensive from UNK in 2023. He gained his master's degree in education in kinesiology and sport sciences from UNK in 2024.
Bach ran three seasons at Marion High School before finishing his prep career at Center Point-Urbana High School. Bach was a two-time state of Iowa champion in the 1,600m and 3,200m at Marion. He won another state title in the 3,200m at Center Point-Urbana as a senior. Bach signed with Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash., out of high school to run for the Bulldogs.
