Men's tennis gains return trip to NCAA Tournament; Northwest nabs 24th all-time bid

The Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis squad is returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2023 season as the No. 4 seed in the Central Region.
 
The No. 49-ranked Bearcats have gained the program's 24th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance. Northwest is 20-23 in NCAA Tournament matches. Head coach Mark Rosewell and the Bearcats have advanced out of the regional round 10 times in 1995, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2021. Rosewell has produced 1,317 coaching victories, including 1,295 at Northwest.
 
The Central Region will have an allocation of five teams (conference champion and four at-large bids) in the 48-team NCAA Tournament field and two teams will advance from the Central Region to the finals site (Surprise, Ariz. - May 20-24). 
 
Northwest is the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 seed Ouachita Baptist (12-9 overall) in the opening round at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 11, in Topeka, Kan. The winner of the Northwest-Ouachita Baptist match will take on No. 1 seed Washburn (18-5 overall) in the regional final Tuesday, May 12.

Tuesday, May 12 – Winner at No. 1 Washburn (18-5), 2 p.m.

NCAA Central Region – Searcy, Ark.
Tuesday, May 12 – No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney (14-7) at No. 2 Harding (14-7), 11 a.m.
 
Northwest (12-9 overall) tied for second in the 2026 MIAA regular season. The Bearcats reached the MIAA Tournament semifinals with a quarterfinal victory over Ouachita Baptist. Northwest dropped a 4-1 decision to eventual MIAA tourney champion Washburn in the semis.
 
Northwest had four players earn all-MIAA honors in Konstantin Feiel, Antonin Leborne, Pavlo Vysotin and Dominik Wijntjes. Vysotin leads the way with a 16-5 mark in singles action. Feiel is tied for second in singles wins (14). Gage Foltz has tallied a team-high 12 doubles victories. Bernardo Henriques and Jules Subra are the only two Bearcat to reach double-figure win totals. Henriques has 14 singles wins and 10 doubles victories. Subra has notched 13 singles wins and 10 doubles victories.
