The final Intercollegiate Tennis Association national and region rankings feature both Northwest Missouri State University tennis teams.
Under the direction of head coach
Mark Rosewell, the Bearcat women finished No. 42 in the nation and the Northwest men came in at No. 47 in the country. The women posted a final dual mark of 17-6 overall (7-2 MIAA), while the men went 12-10 overall (3-2 MIAA/GAC North Division).
The men's doubles pairing of Dominik Witjntes and
Gage Foltz were ranked No. 43 in the nation after gaining six wins, including four in dual action.
In the women's Central Region rankings, Northwest came in at No. 5.
Miru Nonaka gained a No. 10 region ranking to close the year. Nonaka gained 11 singles wins with eight of those coming in the dual portion of the schedule.
In the men's Central Region rankings, the Bearcats also were tabbed No. 5.
Bernardo Henriques was ranked No. 7 and
Pavlo Vysotin was ranked No. 10 in the final region ledger. Henriques went 14-10 in singles play, while Vysotin went 17-5 and led the team in singles victories.
Coach Rosewell completed his 42nd season at the helm of the Bearcat tennis program. He has gone 626-302 in men's play to go along with a mark of 670-318 in women's action. Rosewell has posted 1,296 wins as the Bearcat head coach. Rosewell tallied 22 wins at Central Missouri prior to coming to Northwest to give him 1,318 collegiate coaching victories.
