EMPORIA, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University track and field teams finished day two of the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships with two additional All-America honors and two athletes and two relay squads qualifying for the finals.

Kiki Witt generated the first points scored for the Bearcat women, securing third place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as well as breaking her own school record in the event.Â

On the men's side,
Maxime Touron and
Riley Witt grabbed the top two qualifying marks in the 800-meter prelims.
Â
Both the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams secured top-three finishes to advance to the finals.
Â
Moving into Saturday's finals, the Bearcats have 11 individual entries and three relay teams competing for the top finishes. The Bearcat women are currently tied for 17th with six points on the board while the Bearcat men are tied for 16th with five points.

Maxime Touron and
Riley Witt qualified for the finals by capturing the top two qualifying spots. Touron secured first place with a time of 1:48.58, while Witt claimed second with a time of 1:48.72. Both athletes will compete in Saturday's finals at 5:15 p.m.

(W) 800m Prelim: Sophomore
Marie Dea earned a 10th-place finish with a time of 2:08.27. Dea's finish secured her Second-Team All-America honors, marking her third career All-American distinction.

(W) 3,000m Steeplechase: Senior
Kiki Witt captured third place overall with a time of 10:17.74, resetting her school record she set earlier this season and earning her second career First-Team All-America honor.Â

(M) 4x400m Relay Prelim: Northwest's relay team, consisting of

Logan Arellano,
Christian Lanphier and
Truman Hare, grabbed the third-best qualifying time of 3:06.55. The squad will run in the finals on Saturday at 7:20 p.m.

Melanie Roland claimed second place in the 4x400-meter relay prelims with a time of 3:35.46, landing them at No. 4 in the Northwest record books. The team will close out Saturday's competition in the finals set for 7:30 p.m.

Northwest will be back in action for the final day of the NCAA Championships tomorrow, Saturday, May 23, in Emporia, Kan. Saturday's field events are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. with running events following at 3:30 p.m. The team awards are set to follow the 4x400-meter events at 7:45 p.m.
